in a dazzling show
sunlight snakes in to kiss the floor.
the rays inevitably
win the day,
and the shadows flee.
remind me why,
no matter the weight of the world,
the sunlight always rises
with the same
smiling dawn.
the universe marches on.
with or without me, time flys forever.
so lift your eyes and
bathe in the laughter
of the day
